Granite

Granite is an igneous stone formed by the cooling of molten rock over 300 million years ago. It has been prized for thousands of years for its great durability, hardness and density. These qualities lend themselves to the stone being polished, a process widely used to enhance the appearance and natural beauty of granite.

The unique qualities of granite were well recognised by the ancients, the Egyptian temple at Karnak being but one of numerous examples. Not surprisingly then, the tradition has stood the test of time and granite remains the decorative material of choice where luxury and strength need to combine.

There are many types of granite which are quarried in many countries throughout the world. The configuration of minerals in the granite such as quartz, feldspar, mica and hornblende results in an infinite variety of colours and patterns

The timeless elegance of granite makes the most prestigious, practical and beautiful worktops.
